Sybiha expressed his satisfaction in hosting Czech Foreign Minister Jan Lipavsky in Kyiv.

He noted that they began their visit to Maidan Nezalezhnosti by honoring the memory of Ukrainian heroes who lost their lives defending the country against Russian aggression, and by opening a conference dedicated to the current challenges of international humanitarian law, together with his Czech counterpart.

Sybiha stated that 90% of Ukrainian prisoners of war are subjected to torture, and added:

"Currently, more than 175,000 war crimes committed by Russians in Ukraine have been documented. Ukraine's painful experience allows us to initiate new amendments to international humanitarian law to fill existing gaps, especially concerning the treatment of prisoners of war, and the protection of children and civilian detainees. For this reason, Ukraine has initiated the establishment of the Platform for Progressive Development of International Humanitarian Law."
