Commenting on the meeting, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Sybiha said: “In Berlin, as part of President Zelensky’s visit to Germany, I held a meaningful meeting with my German counterpart and true friend, Johann Wadephul.”

Thanking Germany, Sybiha stated: “I expressed my gratitude for Germany’s steady support for Ukraine’s security and resilience, for the comprehensive financial and reconstruction assistance it provides, including long-term commitments, as well as for its efforts to enable the full use of frozen Russian assets.”

Emphasizing Germany’s role, Sybiha said: “We appreciate Germany’s leading role in promoting the Ukrainian and European agenda in the peace process, as well as its continued support for Ukraine’s membership in the European Union.”

Noting that joint steps were discussed during the meeting, Sybiha said: “We coordinated joint steps to strengthen Ukraine’s defense, achieve a just and lasting peace, and advance our EU accession process.”

Sybiha also added: “I informed German Foreign Minister Wadephul about the latest developments in peace efforts, including the initial results of consultations held in Berlin between Ukrainian and American negotiation teams.”

Concluding his statement, Sybiha said: “Together with Germany, we will continue to protect our people and strengthen the security of the entire European continent.”
