Sybiha: Ukraine and Romania will increase coordination for regional security
Kyiv, June 11 (Hibya) - Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha announced that during a phone call with Romanian Foreign Minister Oana Țoiu, they discussed Ukraine’s European Union accession process and regional security issues.
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha stated that he thanked Romania for its steadfast support for Ukraine, its solidarity with the Ukrainian people, and its contributions to the country's European Union accession process.
Noting that Ukraine has completed the necessary preparations, Sybiha said, “Ukraine has done its part, and we are counting on the support of our partners to move the process forward.”
Sybiha stated that the latest developments on the front line and Russia’s attacks on Ukrainian cities and critical infrastructure were also discussed during the conversation, adding that the common objective of both countries is “to restore a comprehensive and lasting peace and strengthen security in the region.”
Noting that the parties agreed on close coordination, effective communication, increased situational awareness, and the strengthening of early warning mechanisms, Sybiha said, “Ukraine will continue to work closely with Romania to minimize the risks created by Russian aggression and respond rapidly to emerging challenges.”
