Tajani: We held a meeting on illegal migration and organized crime
Munich, February 14 (Hibya) - Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani held a meeting on illegal migration and organized crime within the framework of the Munich Security Conference, drawing attention to the decrease in migration flows from Africa and the importance of the Mattei Plan.
Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani, together with UK Home Secretary Yvette Cooper, held a meeting aimed at strengthening cooperation and a common political strategy.
At the meeting, attended by Germany, the Netherlands, Norway and the European Union, issues of illegal migration and organized crime were discussed.
Referring to the decline in migration figures from Africa, Tajani said, “The decrease in arrivals from Africa is an important result of a model that has also inspired other countries.”
Emphasizing Italy’s development and security-based approach, Minister Tajani concluded his remarks by stating, “The Mattei Plan is a concrete example of an integrated and inclusive approach aimed at preventing and resolving conflicts in countries of origin and transit, as well as promoting economic development.”
