United States (US) President Donald Trump announced in a post on his Truth Social account that he would refuse to sign any bill passed by Congress and sent to his desk in protest if the SAVE America Act is not approved by the Senate.

Trump claimed that the proposed legislation would require photo identification and proof of citizenship for elections, while eliminating mail-in voting except under certain specified exceptions.

In his statement, Trump also called on the Republican Party, saying that the Senate filibuster should be abolished to ensure the passage of the SAVE America Act. He argued that otherwise Democrats could eliminate the filibuster in the future, which, he claimed, would have negative consequences for Republicans.
