Trump Nominates Investor Bessent for Treasury Secretary
Washington, November 23 (Hibya) - U.S. President-elect Donald Trump has nominated investor Scott Bessent for the role of Treasury Secretary in his upcoming administration.
Trump wrote on his social media platform Truth Social that Bessent, "respected as one of the world's leading international investors," has been nominated for the role of Treasury Secretary.
The Arlington-based American news website Axios previously reported the president-elect's plans to nominate Bessent, noting that he has been actively fundraising and defending Trump in the media.
