Trump's favorite, Nasry Asfura, declared winner in Honduras
Stockholm, December 25 (Hibya) - Conservative presidential candidate Nasry Asfura won the presidential election in Honduras after several weeks of vote counting.
This result represents another shift to the right in a Latin American country, just one week after Chile elected the far-right José Antonio Kast as its new president.
Before the Honduran elections held on November 30, US President Donald Trump supported Asfura with an aggressive stance against "drug-communists".
At the same time, Trump decided to pardon Asfura’s party mate, former Honduran President Juan Orlando Hernandez, who was sentenced to 45 years in prison for involvement in drug trafficking to the US.
