Trump's Request for Sentence Delay Denied
Washington, January 7 (Hibya) - Donald Trump's request to delay his sentence in the alleged bribery case was denied yesterday. Consequently, the sentence will be issued on Friday, but the judge stated that he is not inclined to impose imprisonment, probation, or a fine on Trump.
A New York judge on Wednesday denied the request by elected president Donald Trump's lawyers to delay his sentence in the alleged bribery case. Trump was convicted last year on all 34 charges of accounting record violations related to a bribe paid to a porn actress to cover up alleged sexual relationships.
The sentence was postponed, but the judge announced last week that the decision would be announced next Friday, a little more than a week before Trump is sworn in again as president.
However, the judge stated that he does not intend to impose imprisonment, probation, or a fine on Trump.
