Tsahkna: US military presence in Estonia continues
Tallinn, September 22 (Hibya) - Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna said the continued US military presence in Estonia is important for deterrence and defense on NATO's eastern flank.
Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna made a statement regarding the US military presence in his country.
Tsahkna said: "The US continues its military presence in Estonia. This is a strong sign of allied unity and an important element of deterrence and defense on NATO's eastern flank."
Tsahkna also said Estonia is strengthening its defense capacity, adding: "Estonia is doing its part. This year, it is investing more than 5 percent of its gross domestic product in defense, and we are strengthening our national capacity."
Tsahkna said: "A strong Europe and the continued US commitment to European security reinforce each other."
