Tusk: Our alliance cannot exist only on paper
Warsaw, September 1 (Hibya) - Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk highlighted the solidarity of the transatlantic alliance and the Western world in a statement marking the anniversary of the Second World War.
Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk emphasized that the historical lessons drawn from the Second World War make tangible unity between NATO and its allies essential in today’s global security environment.
Referring to the importance of historical experience, Tusk said, "The painful lesson of the Second World War shows us all how invaluable the solidarity and unity of the entire free world — Europe, the United States and NATO — are."
Pointing out that the alliance must not remain only on paper, Tusk said, "Our alliance cannot exist only on paper."
