Ukraine: 70 million people worldwide face the risk of hunger
Kyiv, November 26 (Hibya) – The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine announced that, as a direct result of the war, 70 million people worldwide face the risk of hunger due to disruptions in food supply chains.
In a statement from the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, it was stated that Russia's full-scale aggression against Ukraine, particularly attacks on the country's food supply infrastructure, has had a severe negative impact not only on Ukraine's agricultural sector but also on global food security.
It was noted in the statement that, as a direct result of the war, 70 million people worldwide face the risk of hunger due to disruptions in food supply chains:
“Ukraine's grain supply has never been so critical for global food security. This is why, in 2022, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky launched the humanitarian program 'Grain from Ukraine' to help countries and people worldwide overcome the food crisis.”
