UN: 5,400 gender-based violence cases reported in Haiti
New York, November 28 (Hibya) – The United Nations (UN) reported that 5,400 cases of gender-based violence were recorded in Haiti from January to October.
In a statement, the UN noted that ongoing gang violence in Haiti disproportionately affects women and girls.
The statement highlighted that 5,400 cases of gender-based violence were reported between January and October. The UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs and its partners are working to support survivors, but critical services are severely underfunded.
