UN: All residents of Northern Gaza are in immediate danger
Stockholm, October 27 (Hibya) - The United Nations Deputy Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs, Joyce Msuya, has called for an end to Israel's military operations in Northern Gaza, stating that all residents there are in immediate danger.
The Israeli army launched a large-scale military operation in Northern Gaza at the beginning of the month. Msuya condemned the ongoing Israeli military attacks and the siege of Northern Gaza.
According to the Palestinian news agency Wafa, at least 35 people were killed yesterday in Israeli airstrikes on an apartment building in Beit Lahiya in Northern Gaza. The attack targeted five apartments, and among the dead were women and children. In another attack on a residential building in the city, at least 10 more people were killed.
The Gaza Ministry of Health says the Israeli army has killed over 800 Palestinians in Northern Gaza over the past three weeks. Since the beginning of Israel's attacks on Gaza on October 7 of last year, around 43,000 people have been killed.
Meanwhile, the Israeli army withdrew yesterday from Kamal Adwan Hospital in Beit Lahiya, which it had occupied for 22 days. Kamal Adwan was one of the few functioning hospitals in Northern Gaza.
The World Health Organization reported yesterday that the army had detained more than half of the hospital staff, almost all of whom were men. Currently, there are only three doctors and over 200 patients in the hospital.
