UN: Fighting in northern Ethiopia is displacing civilians
New York, October 5 (Hibya) - United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) Secretary-General Tom Fletcher said ongoing fighting in northern Ethiopia is affecting civilians and disrupting humanitarian operations.
OCHA Secretary-General Fletcher made a statement on the humanitarian situation in northern Ethiopia.
In a social media post, Fletcher said teams are continuing their efforts to deliver life-saving food, healthcare and other assistance to people in need in the region.
Fletcher said the fighting continues to affect and displace civilians, adding that humanitarian operations are also being disrupted as needs increase.
Fletcher called on all parties to ensure safe and rapid access to the region for humanitarian workers.
