UN Security Council calls for emergency meeting over Cambodia-Thailand dispute
New York, July 25 (Hibya) – The United Nations Security Council will hold an emergency meeting today following a request made early yesterday by Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet.
The Council will discuss the bloody clashes that erupted yesterday between Cambodia and Thailand.
Both countries’ militaries used tanks, artillery units, and ground troops during the clashes. Later, the Thai military launched attacks on military targets in Cambodia using six F-16 fighter jets.
The Thai Ministry of Health announced that 11 civilians and one soldier were killed in the Cambodian army's attacks.
