U.S. safely evacuates 20,000 citizens from the Middle East
Washington, March 5 (Hibya) - The United States Department of State announced that approximately 20,000 American citizens have been safely evacuated from the Middle East since February 28.
The U.S. Department of State shared the latest update on the safe evacuation of American citizens from the Middle East. According to the statement, approximately 20,000 American citizens have safely returned to the United States from the region since February 28.
The figures do not include many citizens who have safely settled in other countries or have left the Middle East but are still on their way back to the United States. Under the instructions of U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, charter flights and ground transportation operations are continuing and will be increased with additional trips in the coming days.
A Crisis Application Form has been created for American citizens in Kuwait, Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and Israel; those who complete the form will be directly informed about upcoming charter flights and ground transportation options.
The Department has provided support to more than 10,000 Americans abroad, including security guidance and travel assistance, through a 24/7 task force. Those wishing to leave the Middle East can receive assistance around the clock.
