US strikes weapon depots of an armed group in Syria
Stockholm, November 27 (Hibya) - US forces struck a weapon depot of a group of fighters in Syria, allegedly linked to the Iranian government. The attack was reportedly aimed at preventing similar assaults on multinational US forces in Syria and Iraq.
Yesterday, the US military conducted an airstrike on weapon depots of an unidentified militant group in Syria, allegedly under Iranian control. The US military operations command stated that this strike was in response to an attack on US soldiers that occurred a day earlier.
Iran-backed forces have frequently attacked US forces in Iraq and Syria since the war between Israel and the Palestinian Islamic Movement began a year ago.
The US military regularly responds to attacks in rural areas of Syria and Iraq with airstrikes. The US has 3,000 troops in Iraq and Syria, who are part of a multinational force combating a "terrorist organization" for over a decade.
