WHO: Multiple evacuation corridors urgently needed in West Bank, Egypt, and Jordan
Geneva, July 11 (Hibya) - World Health Organization (WHO) Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said multiple evacuation corridors are urgently needed in the West Bank, Egypt, and Jordan.
WHO Director-General Ghebreyesus stated that since the start of the conflict in Gaza in October, more than 38,000 people have been killed, 88,000 injured, and around 10,000 are missing.
Ghebreyesus noted that more than 10,000 patients in Gaza still need medical evacuation due to the lack of treatment and continued:
“Multiple evacuation corridors are urgently needed in the West Bank, Egypt, and Jordan. Last week, only five WHO trucks were allowed into Gaza. Over 34 trucks are waiting at the El-Arish crossing, and 850 pallets of materials are waiting to be collected.”
