Wong: "Protection of civilians and civilian infrastructure is necessary"
Australian Foreign Minister Penny Wong reported deep concern over reports of the Israeli military operation in Rafah where civilians reside.
Wong emphasized that Australia consistently expresses concern over the shrinking safe areas for civilians in Gaza, saying: "We are deeply concerned about reports of the Israeli military operation in Rafah where civilians reside."
Emphasizing the need to protect civilians and civilian infrastructure, Wong said: "We once again call for the unconditional and immediate release of all remaining hostages and ensuring safe and unimpeded humanitarian access. Australia will continue to use its voice to support a fair and enduring peace."
