Zelensky: Defense support and F-16 delivery schedule discussed with Belgium
Kyiv, June 18 (Hibya) - Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky discussed defense support, a new aid package, and the F-16 delivery process with Belgian Prime Minister Bart De Wever.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that he held comprehensive discussions with Belgian Prime Minister Bart De Wever regarding defense support and military assistance.
Zelensky noted that Belgium is preparing a new aid package and a contribution to the PURL initiative, adding that the delivery schedule for F-16 fighter jets was also discussed. He said the first F-16s are expected to be delivered later this year.
The meeting also covered contacts within the framework of the G7 Summit, diplomatic efforts, and initiatives aimed at ending the Russia–Ukraine war.
Zelensky said: “I briefed him on our diplomatic contacts aimed at ending Russia’s war. It is truly important that pressure on the aggressor continues to increase. We also discussed Ukraine’s European integration. I thank Belgium, its government, and all its people for their support.”
