Zelensky: It is Moscow That Must Hear the Word "Stop"
Brussels, August 18 (Hibya) – Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky made a statement regarding Russia’s latest attacks on Ukraine.
Zelensky stressed that Russia is aware that today in Washington a meeting is being held to address the end of the war, and that he will hold talks with U.S. President Donald Trump on key issues.
He added that, in addition to Ukraine, leaders of the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy, Finland, the European Union, and NATO will also participate in the meeting: “Everyone is seeking an honorable peace and real security. And meanwhile, the Russians are attacking Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia, the Sumy region, and Odessa, destroying our residential buildings and civilian infrastructure.”
Zelensky noted that so far in Kyiv, 7 people have been killed and dozens injured, including children, in a drone attack:
“In Zaporizhzhia, 20 people were injured in missile attacks, and three were killed. I extend my condolences to the families and loved ones of all the victims. In addition, Russia deliberately targeted an energy facility in Odessa belonging to an Azerbaijani company.”
Zelensky concluded: “The Russian war machine continues to destroy lives. Putin will carry out demonstrative killings to maintain pressure on Ukraine and Europe and to undermine diplomatic efforts. The war must end. And it is Moscow that must hear the word ‘Stop.’”
