Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky thanked lawmakers for adopting the Ukrainian National Pantheon bill in parliament.

Zelensky said the move is important not only for preserving historical memory and honoring national heroes, but also for strengthening long-term social unity and solidarity.

The statement emphasized that state decisions should be based on those whom society respects and who have made significant contributions to Ukraine's independence and development.

Zelensky said: "This is an important step. It is important not only in the context of our history and Ukrainians honoring their own heroes, but also in terms of laying the foundations for long-term social cohesion in the future. This is only possible if our state's decisions are based on recognizing the truth and those whom the people truly honor—those who have made a historic contribution to Ukraine's defense, development, strengthening, sovereignty, independence, and glory. I expect the law to be submitted to me for signature immediately."
