Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said Russia attacked a school in the capital, Kyiv, with a “Shahed”-type unmanned aerial vehicle.
Zelensky said first responders and the necessary emergency services were continuing their work in the area where the incident occurred. He said children and teachers were in a shelter during the air raid alert and that, as a result, no one was injured in the attack.
Zelensky reported that the attack caused a fire on the third floor of the school, part of a wall collapsed, and windows and doors were damaged. He said Russia must be held fully accountable for its attacks and that the attacks must be met with a response.
Zelensky said Ukraine expects its partners to increase pressure on Russia and prepare additional support packages for Ukraine, adding that efforts to secure these agreements are continuing.
