Zelensky suggested that Ankara could provide security guarantees for Ukraine
Moscow, February 19 (Hibya) - During a press conference in Kyiv, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced that a mixed meeting is planned for February 24, marking the anniversary of the start of the war. He also commented on his discussions with the United Arab Emirates and Turkey, suggesting that Ankara could potentially provide security guarantees for Ukraine.
He stated that in recent days he had met with European leaders and that more meetings, including in the United Kingdom, will take place "in the coming weeks."
The discussions are focused on "what Europe is ready to do if there is a reduction in aid from the United States or other sources," emphasizing that "we must rely on an allied position in Europe."
Zelensky said that Trump "lives in a world of disinformation planted by Russia."
"I never comment on popularity ratings, especially my own or those of other leaders," he said, adding that the latest poll showed that 58% of Ukrainians trust him.
"So, if someone wants to replace me right now, it won't work," he added.
He also noted that these figures had been shared with the United States, emphasizing that "a great deal of disinformation is coming from Russia."
"Unfortunately, President Trump, whom we respect greatly as the leader of a great nation... lives in this realm of disinformation," Zelensky said.
He warned about "the circle of misinformation surrounding President Trump," which includes representatives linked to the Hungarian and Slovak governments.
"All of this is concerning. Everything they do is to make sure Ukraine remains weak," he concluded.
