Deniz polisinden Adalar çevresinde 'deniz taksi' denetimi

Ibrahim bin Sultan Al-Hashmi, Director of the Media and Communications Department at Qatar's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, participated in a panel discussion at the Stockholm Peace and Development Forum held in the Swedish capital.

Speaking during the panel, Al-Hashmi stated that Qatar's mediation efforts are based on adherence to the principles of international law, confidence-building, and the peaceful resolution of disputes. He emphasized the importance of this approach in preventing the severe humanitarian, economic, and developmental consequences of conflicts.

Al-Hashmi also addressed the impact of the continued closure of the Strait of Hormuz, stressing that the crisis may extend beyond energy supplies and regional economies. He noted that if the crisis continues, it could also affect the lives of millions of people working in Gulf countries to support their families back home. He added that the capacity of countries in the region to respond to humanitarian needs and maintain their contributions to long-term development could also be at risk.

Al-Hashmi stated that global development efforts are facing growing funding gaps, increasing the burden on the most vulnerable and crisis-affected communities. Emphasizing the need for innovative approaches to development and humanitarian assistance that strengthen community resilience and self-reliance, he highlighted the importance of international cooperation and the exchange of experiences. Al-Hashmi also highlighted Sweden's experience in development cooperation and humanitarian assistance. The session was attended by Mikael Lindvall, Director-General for Global Affairs at the Swedish Ministry for Foreign Affairs; Manal Radwan, Adviser and Special Representative of the Saudi Foreign Minister for Negotiations and Peace Efforts; as well as researchers and civil society representatives.
