Aliyev marks the 250th anniversary of U.S. Independence Day
Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, in a congratulatory message to U.S. President Donald Trump, marked the 250th anniversary of the United States' independence and said he believes the strategic partnership between the two countries will continue to expand into new areas.
In his message to U.S. President Donald Trump, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev said that the Declaration of Independence signed on July 4, 1776, has become a symbol of freedom, democracy, and determination, adding that over the past 250 years the United States has become a strong and influential country on the global stage.
Aliyev also referred to efforts to establish peace in the South Caucasus, stating: “The outcomes of the historic trilateral summit held at the White House last year at your initiative created an entirely new and positive atmosphere in our region. Today, Azerbaijan and Armenia live in peace and maintain trade relations.”
President Aliyev also thanked the United States for its support of regional infrastructure projects, particularly the “Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity,” which he said would provide an alternative, reliable, and secure connection between Asia and Europe.
