Anand wishes Dominican Republic Foreign Minister Alvarez success
Ottawa, August 17 (Hibya) - Canadian Foreign Minister Anita Anand extended her best wishes to Dominican Republic Foreign Minister Roberto Alvarez on his departure from office and congratulated newly appointed Foreign Minister Ito Bisonó.
Canadian Foreign Minister Anita Anand said in a statement that security cooperation between Canada and the Dominican Republic had strengthened during Alvarez's six-year tenure.
Anand noted that cooperation between the two countries had developed particularly as part of joint efforts to address the crisis in Haiti.
Anand added that new Foreign Minister Bisonó's experience in public service and international affairs would contribute to advancing relations between the two countries.
