According to a statement by the Bulgarian Ministry of Interior, a 36-year-old pharmacist who allegedly received approximately 5 kilograms of marijuana was detained during an operation conducted by officers from the Criminal Police Unit of the Varna Regional Police Directorate. An additional 2.10 grams of cocaine were seized during searches of the suspect's home and vehicle.

Authorities reportedly received operational information that the 36-year-old pharmacist, who works at a hospital in the city, was distributing marijuana and cocaine by prior arrangement. As part of the investigation, the suspect was detained at around 5:30 p.m. on September 1 after receiving approximately 5 kilograms of marijuana from a foreign national.

During searches of the suspect's home and vehicle, another 2.10 grams of cocaine were found, and a drug test returned a positive result for cocaine. It was also determined that the 36-year-old had driven a vehicle after using narcotic substances shortly before being detained.

A preliminary investigation into the incident was launched under the supervision of the Varna Regional Prosecutor's Office, and both individuals were reported to have been detained.
