Deniz polisinden Adalar çevresinde 'deniz taksi' denetimi

According to CCTV, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baghaei said that future arrangements regarding transit and traffic management in the Strait of Hormuz should be determined solely through bilateral consultations between Iran and Oman.

The statement came after a meeting in Muscat between Iranian Foreign Minister Seyyed Abbas Araghchi and Omani Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr Albusaidi.

Baghaei said the talks addressed the coordination mechanism for navigation and transit management in the Strait of Hormuz. He noted that legal and technical delegations from both countries attended the meeting, while a Qatari government delegation participated in parts of the discussions.

He added that the discussions covered maritime security, respect for the sovereign rights of both countries, the implementation of international law, and Article 5 of the "Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding." He reiterated Iran's position that the future traffic management framework should be shaped exclusively through consultations between Iran and Oman.

The Iranian side also argued that the new arrangements should take into account the impact of recent U.S. and Israeli military operations against Iran on maritime security in the Strait of Hormuz.

Baghaei said the parties agreed to continue political, legal, and technical consultations in order to develop a shared understanding regarding navigation security in the strait.

Meanwhile, Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf said in a social media post that "the era of unilateral agreements has ended." He recalled that the relevant parties had previously been urged to fulfill their obligations and said that they now "must face reality."

Ghalibaf also referred to Article 5 of the previously signed 14-point memorandum of understanding, stating that transit through the Strait of Hormuz would be carried out in accordance with regulations to be determined by Iran.
