Doha, July 12 (Hibya) - Qatar's Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned Iran's attacks against Qatar, as well as Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Oman, and Kuwait, stating that these actions constitute a clear violation of international law and the United Nations Charter.
Qatar's Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned Iran's attacks against Qatar, as well as Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Oman, and Kuwait, stating that these actions constitute a clear violation of international law and the United Nations Charter.
In a statement, the ministry said that Iran's attacks on Qatari territory, along with attacks targeting other Gulf and regional countries, constitute a serious violation of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the countries concerned.
The statement stressed that the continuation of the attacks would undermine efforts to de-escalate tensions in the region and weaken political and diplomatic initiatives aimed at ensuring security and stability, adding that Iran bears full legal responsibility for these developments.
The ministry stated that Qatar reserves its right to self-defense under Article 51 of the United Nations Charter and has the right to take all necessary measures to protect its sovereignty, security, territorial integrity, and citizens.
It also reaffirmed Qatar's full solidarity with Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Oman, and Kuwait, expressing support for any legitimate measures those countries take to safeguard their sovereignty and security.
Finally, the statement called for the immediate cessation of all military actions threatening regional security and stability, avoidance of any steps that could escalate tensions, a return to dialogue and negotiations, and adherence to diplomatic agreements.
