Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Esmaeil Baqaei criticized British Foreign Secretary Ed Miliband for describing Iran as an aggressor in a statement posted on social media.

Baqaei said, “For British Foreign Secretary Ed Miliband to portray our country as the ‘aggressor’ after two unlawful attacks were carried out against Iran within nine months, while Iran was continuing negotiations, is a ridiculous reversal of the roles of victim and aggressor.”

Baqaei claimed that the chaos in the region was the result of unlawful interventions supported or facilitated by Britain, arguing that the statement was another example of Britain's hostile attitude toward Iran.

Baqaei criticized the British official's approach, stating that it would be equally absurd to describe Britain and its allies as the aggressors during World War II while portraying Nazi Germany as a defender of peace.
