Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Esmaeil Baqaei announced that they participated in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Council of Foreign Ministers Meeting held in Cholpon-Ata, Kyrgyzstan.

Baqaei stated that Iran attaches great importance to the SCO and similar multilateral platforms, noting that these frameworks represent an important force for genuine multilateralism.

Baqaei said that aggressive unilateral policies, violations of agreements between states, and the unlawful use of force undermine the international legal order based on the fundamental principles of international law and the United Nations Charter, stressing that the importance of multilateral cooperation mechanisms has become even greater under these circumstances.
