Israeli President Isaac Herzog issued a message of condolence following the passing of Zehava Shaul, the mother of Oron Shaul.

Herzog described Zehava Shaul as a brave, determined, and inspiring mother, saying that she fought with great determination for more than a decade to bring her son's remains back to Israel.

Herzog stated that he and his wife, Michal, had stood by the Shaul family for many years and had closely shared in their painful journey following Oron Shaul's burial after many years.

In his message, Herzog emphasized that Zehava Shaul never lost hope or gave up her struggle, even during the most difficult times, and extended his condolences to her family and loved ones.
