Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Ismail Baqaei said the children should have been celebrating the beginning of the new academic year today but had lost their lives, stating that their "dismembered bodies lie beneath the ground."

Accusing the US government of defying international law from the podium of the United Nations, Baqaei claimed that responsibility for the February 28 attack lay with the US government. Baqaei also argued that those who did not condemn the attack shared that responsibility.

Baqaei said the Iranian people would not forget the children who lost their lives and would not forgive those responsible for the attack.
