Baqaei: They are trying to hide the truth by disregarding the right to access information
Tehran, September 21 (Hibya) - Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Esmaeil Baqaei commented on restrictions imposed on the access of some foreign correspondents, arguing that this was an attempt to conceal the truth and advance a misinformation campaign while disregarding the right to access information.
Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Baqaei made a statement regarding measures affecting foreign journalists' access.
Baqaei said: "When an administration closes its doors even to American journalists it dislikes and blocks access for foreign correspondents whose voices it prefers to silence, including the Iranian president's media team, that is not managing access."
Baqaei argued that this amounted to "trying to hide the truth and advance a misinformation campaign," adding that this approach disregards the right to access information.
Baqaei said: "A nation that once took pride in tearing down the Iron Curtain now finds itself standing behind one of its own."
