Brasilia, May 28 (Hibya) - Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva met with Surinamese President Jennifer Simons and her delegation in Brasilia.
Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva hosted Surinamese President Jennifer Simons and her delegation in Brasilia.
During the meeting, it was recalled that the two countries share more than 600 kilometers of border, with emphasis placed on democracy, cooperation, multilateralism, and integration.
It was announced that 13 agreements were signed during the visit in the fields of infrastructure, defense, public security, science and technology, social policies, and sustainable development.
Lula stated that the Surinamese side showed interest in Brazil’s experience in social policies, noting that his country had made significant progress in combating hunger and poverty.
It was also reported that an agreement was reached on improving transportation and connectivity between the two countries.
