Bulgaria's Supreme Administrative Court approves Sofia's cleaning services tender
Sofia, July 8 (Hibya) - Bulgaria's Supreme Administrative Court upheld the preliminary enforcement decision regarding cleaning services in Region 3, covering Sofia's Slatina, Poduyane and Izgrev districts.
With the ruling, Sofia Municipality will be able to continue the contract process with the contractor that won the cleaning tender without waiting for the final rulings in the main cases. It was stated that cleaning services will continue uninterrupted under the municipality's temporary organization until the new contractor begins operations.
Sofia Deputy Mayor Nikolay Nedelkov said the court's decision supports an approach that prioritizes urban cleanliness and the public interest.
Municipal officials also announced that efforts to collect green waste, clean underpasses and public transport stops, and remove bulky waste have accelerated in recent months, while inspections related to cleaning services have also been intensified. The statement added that administrative penalties exceeding 100,000 euros were imposed on contractors in June.
