Canada and Iceland emphasize cooperation on trade and clean energy
Ottawa, October 9 (Hibya) – Canadian Foreign Minister Anita Anand announced that her meeting with Icelandic Prime Minister Kristrun Frostadottir addressed increasing trade between the two countries, encouraging investment and advancing innovation in clean energy.
Canadian Foreign Minister Anand made a statement on strengthening relations between Canada and Iceland.
Anand stated that the two countries are united by generations of friendship and shared approaches to global challenges. She noted that this mutual understanding creates new opportunities to increase trade volumes, attract investment and encourage innovation in clean energy.
Expressing her pleasure at the opportunity to meet Icelandic Prime Minister Frostadottir, Anand said they discussed the goals of both countries and their responsibilities as NATO allies.
Emphasizing that mutual trust between the two countries is an important advantage during a period of global uncertainty, Anand stated that Canada and Iceland would continue to strengthen their relations on the basis of this trust.
