Canadian Foreign Minister Anita Anand highlighted the impact of strengthening Canada's international position on the domestic economy and provided information about recently signed security and trade agreements.

Referring to the country's strategic foreign policy initiatives, Anand said: "Being stronger abroad means being stronger at home. That is why Canada is diversifying its trade and building mutually beneficial relationships with other middle powers."

Speaking about agreements concluded over the past year and those planned for the coming period, Anand said: "Last year, we signed more than 20 security and defence partnership agreements across five continents, in addition to economic agreements. We are also working to conclude trade agreements with ASEAN, Mercosur, and India in 2026."

Concluding her remarks with Canada's long-term economic objectives, Anand stated: "By doubling our trade outside the United States over the next decade, these partnerships will support domestic economic growth and strengthen our sovereign economic future."
