Carney: More control. More choice.
Ottawa, June 11 (Hibya) - Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney announced that the government's new National Food Security Strategy will increase food production and processing in the country, which is expected to have a positive impact on consumers' grocery bills.
Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney emphasized that Canada is one of the world's major food producers, stating, “Canada is one of the world’s great food producers, but our grocery prices don’t reflect that.”
Speaking about the new strategy, Carney said, “Canada’s new National Food Security Strategy will ensure that more food is grown and processed here at home. It will also create more competition among retailers, helping to lower your grocery bills.”
Carney noted that the plan will provide more opportunities for both consumers and producers, adding: “More control. More choice. More Canada.”
