Cassis meets with foreign ministers of Sahel countries
New York, September 23 (Hibya) - Swiss Foreign Minister Ignazio Cassis met with the foreign ministers of Burkina Faso, Mali and Niger to discuss the security and stability situation in the Sahel region.
Swiss Foreign Minister Ignazio Cassis said during the meeting, held together with his German and Italian counterparts, that insecurity and instability in the Sahel affect not only the people of the region but also neighboring countries and partners in West Africa and Europe.
Cassis highlighted the importance of contacts with Burkina Faso, Mali and Niger, saying the meeting was held to rebuild trust, revitalize dialogue and seek common solutions to the ongoing crisis.
