New York, September 23 (Hibya) - Swiss Foreign Minister Ignazio Cassis discussed Switzerland’s bridge-building role in the region and cooperation with Sahel countries during his meeting with Burkina Faso Foreign Minister Karamoko Jean-Marie Traore.

In a statement following the meeting, Cassis said they discussed Switzerland’s “bridge-building role” in the region and the “Sports Diplomacy” initiative.
Cassis said the meeting, which followed up on the dialogue launched in Lausanne, also addressed contacts between Switzerland, Germany, Italy and the Confederation of Sahel States. “Our goal is to rebuild trust and give new momentum to cooperation between our countries and the Sahel,” he said.
