CENTCOM: Maritime security operations continue in the Gulf of Oman
Washington, May 14 (Hibya) - The United States Central Command (CENTCOM) announced that commercial vessels are being redirected and military operations are continuing to ensure maritime security in the Gulf of Oman transit routes.
The United States Central Command made a statement regarding activities related to maritime traffic through the Gulf of Oman.
The statement noted that a Sea Hawk helicopter assigned to Helicopter Maritime Strike Squadron 50 landed on the flight deck of the USS Truxtun (DDG 103) and that the operations were being carried out within the scope of maritime security.
CENTCOM announced that, within the framework of activities in the region, 70 commercial vessels have so far been redirected for security reasons, while 4 vessels have been rendered operationally inactive.
It was stated that the operations are continuing with the aim of ensuring maritime security and navigation safety in the region.
