In a statement released yesterday, the Ministry of Commerce said that China has urged the United States to immediately correct its mistake and stop the unreasonable pressure on Chinese companies.

The Chinese Ministry of Commerce made this statement in response to a reporter’s question regarding the US Department of Commerce’s new decision to expand export restrictions to subsidiaries of companies listed on the “entity list” if the parent company owns at least 50% of their shares.

The statement noted that this rule is another example of the United States abusing the concept of national security by generalizing it to justify export controls, seriously violating the legitimate rights and interests of affected businesses.

It was also emphasized that this rule will disrupt the international economic and trade order and harm the security and stability of global industry and supply chains. China firmly opposes this rule and will take necessary measures to protect the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese companies.
