Commodity markets rise, led by gold
Istanbul, October 15 (Hibya) - Precious metals in commodity markets mostly recorded gains during the week's new trading session, supported by a weaker dollar. The price of gold rose 1.42 percent to $4,166.10 per ounce, while silver and palladium also posted gains.
A decline in the US dollar index in global markets encouraged buying activity in precious metals, while commodity markets generally showed a positive trend.
In early trading, gold increased by $58.20 (1.42 percent) to $4,166.10 per ounce. Silver rose by $0.343 (0.61 percent) to $56.22 per ounce, while palladium traded at $1,108.00, up $11.50 (1.05 percent).
In contrast, base metals and platinum recorded limited losses. Copper declined by $0.078 (1.17 percent) to $6.5825, while platinum fell marginally by $0.60 (0.04 percent) to $1,614.00 per ounce.
