European Commissioner for Equality, Preparedness and Crisis Management Hadja Lahbib said about the explosion in Crans-Montana: “I extend my deepest condolences for the many people who lost their lives in the Crans-Montana explosion, to their loved ones and to the rescue teams. The EU has activated the Civil Protection Mechanism. We are in contact with the Swiss authorities to provide medical assistance to the victims.”

German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, regarding the explosion in Switzerland’s Crans-Montana region, said: “In Switzerland’s Crans-Montana region, a moment of joy turned into tragedy. The events there have deeply affected us. Our thoughts are with the victims and their loved ones. I wish the injured a swift and full recovery.”

Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney, regarding the fire in Switzerland’s Crans-Montana region, said: “Yesterday’s Crans-Montana fire is a devastating tragedy. My thoughts are with those who lost their lives or were injured, their loved ones, first responders, and the entire community supporting one another through this incredible loss.”

Belgian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Maxime Prevot, regarding the tragedy in Switzerland’s Valais region, said: “We share our deepest solidarity with the victims’ families and stand with the Swiss people in mourning. At present, no missing persons have been reported from Belgium, but it cannot be completely ruled out. Within the EU Civil Protection Mechanism, we offer to admit five severely burned patients and two medium-care patients to our hospitals, and tomorrow morning we will send support to the medical teams (1 team leader, 2 doctors and 2 burn-specialist nurses).”

Dutch Prime Minister Dick Schoof, regarding the tragedy in Crans-Montana, said: “More and more details are emerging about the unprecedented scale of yesterday’s Crans-Montana fire. A fire that broke out in a bar claimed dozens of lives. Today I conveyed my condolences to Swiss President Parmelin. Our thoughts are with all victims, their families and the Swiss people.”

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, regarding the tragic fire in Crans-Montana, said: “Following the tragic fire in Crans-Montana, I extend my deepest condolences to President Parmelin. We pray for those who lost their lives and for the many injured.”

EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas, regarding the devastating fire in Crans-Montana, said: “My thoughts are with the victims, the injured and their families. French President Emmanuel Macron, regarding the Crans-Montana fire, said: “I spoke with Swiss President Parmelin and conveyed our solidarity. The toll is terrible. Our thoughts are with the families. Our diplomatic and consular teams are closely monitoring the situation and providing the necessary assistance to our citizens. France is admitting the injured to its hospitals and stands ready to provide any support. I thank the mobilized teams and healthcare workers.”

Montenegrin President Jakov Milatovic, after the tragic fire in the Crans-Montana region, said: “I extend my deepest condolences to President Parmelin and to the families of those who lost their lives due to the tragic fire in Crans-Montana. Montenegro stands with the Swiss people in this time of sorrow.”

European Council President Antonio Costa, regarding the tragic fire in Crans-Montana, said: “I am deeply saddened by the tragic fire in Crans-Montana. I offer my heartfelt condolences to the victims’ families and loved ones, and I express my solidarity with the Swiss authorities in responding to this devastating event.”

North Macedonia’s Foreign Minister Timco Mucunski, regarding the tragic incident at a bar in the Crans-Montana ski resort, said: “I extend my most sincere and deep condolences to the victims’ families and the Swiss people, and I wish the injured a speedy and healthy recovery. Our country is ready to accept injured patients and provide the necessary support in our healthcare facilities. If needed, we are ready to send our North Macedonian specialist doctors to Switzerland—who previously served in such emergencies in Kocani—to contribute to the treatment process. In such moments, solidarity is vital; we are fully ready and supportive alongside our Swiss friends.”
