Costa: The European Union has continuously supported Lebanon
Beirut, January 9 (Hibya) – President of the European Union Council Antonio Costa met with Lebanese President Joseph Aoun during his visit to Beirut.
EU Council President Antonio Costa held high-level meetings in Lebanon’s capital Beirut as part of his regional tour.
Referring to bilateral relations and the process of change in Lebanon during his meeting with President Joseph Aoun, Costa said: “Mr. President Aoun, thank you for the warm welcome in Beirut. Exactly one year ago, you were elected President of Lebanon, bringing an end to more than two years of political instability.”
Emphasizing the European Union’s partnership with Lebanon, Costa stated: “The European Union has continuously supported Lebanon and will continue to help ensure its stability and prosperity. The strong ties between our peoples guide our partnership.”
