Crosetto said he had the honor of serving his country as Defence Minister during the 1,413 days he had been in office. Noting that this period had been marked by successive crises around the world, Crosetto said, “It has been 1,413 days of intense and uninterrupted government. During this time, I have had the honor of serving my country as Defence Minister in the Meloni government.”

Crosetto said, “Italy today enjoys 360-degree credibility and earns the respect of both its historic allies and its toughest rivals.”

Crosetto said he also had regrets regarding his time in office, adding that his greatest regret was the price paid by those close to him. Despite this, he said he was proud to have served his country “with seriousness, consistency and by doing the best he could.”

Crosetto said the long tenure of the Meloni government was not a destination, adding, “Such prolonged stability is not an endpoint; it is a responsibility that obliges us to make an even greater effort.”
