Pakistan's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar issued a message on the occasion of ASEAN Day. On behalf of the government and people of Pakistan, Dar congratulated ASEAN member states on the 59th anniversary of the organization's establishment.

Dar highlighted ASEAN's role in strengthening peace, stability and prosperity in Southeast Asia. Stating that ASEAN represents an important model for regional integration and cooperation, Dar said the organization contributes to economic development, social cohesion and regional stability.

Dar stated that Pakistan's relations with ASEAN have developed on the basis of mutual respect, shared interests and constructive cooperation, noting that his country actively participates in various ASEAN mechanisms. Dar also said Pakistan continues its activities within the framework of the ASEAN Regional Forum and will continue to contribute to regional peace, security and cooperation.

Dar noted that at a time of growing global and regional challenges, ASEAN's emphasis on dialogue, multilateralism and inclusive cooperation has become even more important, stressing that Pakistan is determined to strengthen its cooperation with ASEAN toward the goal of a peaceful, stable and sustainable region.
