Dutch Prime Minister Schoof hosted Portuguese President Rebelo de Sousa in The Hague.

Schoof noted that they discussed the centuries-old ties between Portugal and the Netherlands under the watchful gaze of Vermeer’s “Girl with a Pearl Earring” and added: “From trade and energy to culture and tourism, the Portuguese and Dutch know how to find each other.”

Schoof emphasized that they also collaborate closely on a political level, stating: “For many years, we have been excellent partners in the EU and allies in NATO. In uncertain times like the war in Ukraine and rapid geopolitical changes, this is more important than ever.”
